Review chats from an incomplete deletion

An issue in an older version of BoltAI may have left some chats or folders hidden after deletion. Nothing has been lost. Their data is still safely stored.

If BoltAI finds affected data, a warning appears at the bottom of the sidebar. Click it. If multiple items need attention, click Resolve next to Hidden chats found.

• Recover: Returns active chats and folders. Chats that were already deleted move to Trash, where they remain recoverable.

• Delete Forever: Permanently removes the affected chats, messages, attachments, and local files after confirmation.

• Not Now: Leaves everything unchanged so you can decide later.

If Cloud Sync is enabled, your choice will also be applied to synced devices during the next sync. BoltAI will not automatically recover or delete anything.

Regular chats already in Trash are not affected.

What happened?

In some older versions of BoltAI, deleting a folder and its chats while Cloud Sync was disabled or while you were signed out of BoltAI Cloud could soft-delete the chats instead of hard-deleting them. This hid the chats but left their data stored locally.

This issue only affected local deletions while the chats were not being synced. It did not upload the affected chats to BoltAI Cloud.

This update detects those chats and lets you recover them, leave them unchanged for now, or delete them forever.

BoltAI Cloud and Cloud Sync follow the retention choice you make. Delete Forever permanently removes a chat from BoltAI Cloud and propagates the deletion to your synced devices. Moving a chat to Trash keeps it recoverable for 30 days. After that, it is permanently deleted.
