BoltAI quits right after opening on macOS 13 or 14

BoltAI 2.17.0 and 2.17.1 can close immediately on macOS 13 and 14. Install 2.17.2 manually to fix it.

BoltAI 2.17.0 and 2.17.1 can quit immediately after opening on macOS 13 Ventura and macOS 14 Sonoma. BoltAI 2.17.2 fixes this.

Because the app closes before it can check for updates, it can't update itself. Download 2.17.2 and install it manually. Your chats, projects, and settings are kept.

Install BoltAI 2.17.2

  1. Download BoltAI 2.17.2.

  2. Open the downloaded file and drag BoltAI into the Applications folder.

  3. When asked, choose Replace.

  4. Open BoltAI.

If you renamed the app or keep it outside the Applications folder, replace that copy instead.

Check which version you have

After BoltAI opens, choose BoltAI > About BoltAI. It should show version 2.17.2 or later.

Other macOS versions

BoltAI 2.17.1 opens normally on macOS 15 and later. It will offer 2.17.2 through Check for Updates as usual.
