How to update BoltAI

These steps apply to the website version of BoltAI for Mac. If you installed BoltAI through Setapp, update it using Setapp.

How do I update BoltAI to the latest version?

1. Open BoltAI → Settings… → Updates.

2. Select Check for Updates….

3. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it. Restart BoltAI when prompted.

BoltAI checks for updates on the Update Channel selected in this screen. You can also choose BoltAI → Check for Updates… from the menu bar.

How do I receive beta updates?

1. Open BoltAI → Settings… → Updates.

2. Set Update Channel to Beta.

3. Select Check for Updates… to look for a beta release now.

Beta releases may be less stable than regular releases.

How do I turn off automatic updates?

Open BoltAI → Settings… → Updates and turn off Automatically download updates. BoltAI can still check for updates and let you choose when to download one.

To stop automatic checks as well, turn off Automatically check for updates. You can still select Check for Updates… whenever you want to check manually.

How do I switch back to stable updates?

In BoltAI → Settings… → Updates, set Update Channel to Stable. Select Check for Updates… to check that channel now. Changing channels does not remove the version already installed on your Mac.

Where can I see what changed in an update?

Select Open Changelog in Settings → Updates, or visit the BoltAI changelog.
